Your team knows the answer. The room doesn’t always hear it.
SignalCheck Teams measures what happens when engineers, consultants and other specialists must respond, explain and defend decisions in English. It then builds quarterly cycles of development from the results. Built for HR, L&D and the leaders of technical and specialist teams.
Ninety seconds on what we measure and why it matters.
Build the operational case
Most training works on the speaker and leaves the meeting unchanged. SignalCheck Teams works on both the people and the meetings around them.
Risk is raised, but it sounds small
A specialist knows the requirement is incomplete. What head office hears is that there may be some difficulty. What it meant was that the work will fail unless the plan changes. The cost is rework, overtime and missed dates.
Agreement that is not agreement
Everyone leaves the meeting believing the team agreed. One group heard investigate, another heard build. Nobody finds out until the work is built, and then it is built again.
How they are found: every session runs under the same conditions, five dimensions are scored on fixed bands, and a trained reviewer reads the session before any report is delivered. See how the diagnostic is delivered.
“Our regional engineers need help with their English.”
A training expense, easy to defer.
“Important technical input is being lost in cross-regional decisions. We can show where the loss happens and work on both the people and the meetings around them.”
An operational problem with an HR and leadership response.

What changes within the people.
What happens around them.
One shared pattern decides what SignalResponse Teams works on.
Sample data. Not a real team.
SignalScan signals. SignalCheck diagnoses. SignalResponse develops the person and the room. Reassessment shows what moved.
What changes in the work
SignalCheck Teams is built to change observable communication in real work. The second SignalCheck shows what improved.
One system, four stages
At every stage, the person and the organisation receive different things, on published rules.
1. Measure
The person: a private SignalCheck report and time with a reviewer. The organisation: confirmation that the baseline is complete. No individual scores.
2. Map
The person: their report stays theirs. You: the Team Signal Map, Room Map observation where included, and a leader debrief.
3. Develop
The person: private AI practice, group sessions, and 1:1 help where results show a need. You: manager support and team-level progress.
4. Check again
The person: their second private report. You: team-level results with individual scores removed: what improved and what still needs work.
Start with one team
You do not need to begin with a company-wide rollout. A Team Baseline gives each participant a private SignalCheck, returns the combined team pattern, and gives leaders a clear readout of what the results show.
The Team Baseline can open the quarterly cycles, or run as a separately agreed first engagement. If the results do not support continuing, we will say so.
SignalResponse Teams
SignalResponse Teams turns the team’s results into quarterly cycles of development across the individual, the team and the meetings around them. Managers join too, so the room changes with the people in it.
SignalResponse runs on both routes. What SignalResponse is.
- Private repetition
- Consistent practice conditions
- Access across time zones
- Practice between the human sessions
- Judgement and feedback
- Context from your team's real work
- Challenge in the live sessions
- Programme adjustment and final review
AI never makes an employment decision, never produces a manager-facing individual score, and never replaces the human review of a SignalCheck report.
The measurement method stays fixed. The development reflects the work. The same five dimensions, bands and review standard apply to everyone, while practice reflects each team's real situations.
Designed for one team. Planned for a global organisation.
Large programmes run in controlled waves by function, region and priority. Every participant receives the same diagnostic standard. The delivery team, reviewer capacity and development calendar are confirmed before each wave begins.
Pricing depends on the number of people, regions, diagnostic and Room Map coverage, and the mix of group, AI and targeted 1:1 development. You receive a written plan, timeline, participation requirement and total cost before anything is booked.
The rules, published
The individual
- Private report
- Full personal score
- Private development
The organisation
- Team-level pattern
- No individual scores
- Agreed team evidence
No individual score goes to a manager. Not on request, not in the debrief, not ever.
SignalCheck is built for development and team-level insight. It is not built for hiring, promotion, performance rating, disciplinary action or dismissal decisions. Individual scores must not be used for any of those purposes.
The four commitments, meeting-observation rules and retention detail are published in full: data and confidentiality.
The quarterly cycle, and what closes it
Each cycle follows five stages, agreed before launch. The first opens with the baseline.
- Opening phaseBaseline, private reports, Team Signal Map and leader readout. The starting evidence
- Development cyclesHuman-led team work, private AI practice, targeted 1:1 support, and manager involvement. The development programme
- Review and adjustThe programme changes as new evidence and workplace situations emerge.Updated priorities
- Second SignalCheckDifferent situations at the same difficulty, scored on the same five dimensions.Reassessment results
- Decide what followsClose, sustain, extend or redesign for a defined reason. The evidence pack
Practice data helps adjust the programme while it runs. It never becomes an official score. Formal comparison comes from the second SignalCheck, using different situations at the same difficulty. How the evidence works.
What enterprise buyers ask
Is this Business English training?
No. Business English normally starts with a language syllabus. SignalCheck Teams starts by measuring workplace communication under pressure. Development is then built from the team’s own results.
How much time does it require?
The baseline requires 45 minutes from each participant. A typical active month combines short private practice with one human-led team session. Targeted 1:1 and manager involvement are agreed before launch.
Who is behind SignalCheck

SignalCheck was built by Michael Gunn after sixteen years working one to one with professionals across APAC. The method came from watching excellent people lose decisions in English that they would have won in their first language. Every diagnostic is delivered live, by a person.
Eleven of those years were inside global technology companies.

Thirty minutes on your team. What the sessions involve, how long it takes, what each person receives, what you receive, and how the results turn into development. Bring a real situation your team struggles with and we will show you how the method works on it. If it is not the right fit, we will say so.
